What’s with the 1970s and the flex that was hard camo patterns? Developed in Germany in 1976 Flecktarn was intended for woodland temperate terrain. It is the camo of the fall season and is definitely one of my favorites. The pattern is unique and is almost unabtanium as it can only be imported. Made up of 5 colors, Flecktarn is made up of dark green, grey-green, red-brown, and black and this color pallet is just hard as fuck. Based on German research into patterns found in nature, Flecktarn allows the wearer to donn the tree line water colors found in the works of Bill Waterson. The name Flecktarn is derived from a composite of the German words “Fleck” ( spot, blot, or mark) and “Tarnung” (camouflage). The pattern was introduced in 1990 after the reunification of the German army and is still used today. The Dutch army tested Flecktarn and rejected it because it was considered “too aggressive”. If that’s not Punk Rock, I don’t know what is.
